Food
A mixed diet, of just the basic guinea pig food. Fresh foods, apples, carrots, cucumber green cabbage, runner beans, broccoli , grass, dandelions they need this to get
vitamin C as they do not make their own. so it is essential that this is provided daily in their food. Also grass nuts, readi grass and a good quantity of hay.   Remember to not leave fresh food for to long in the cage to avoid it going off. Never feed rabbit food as this does not have the nutrients in.
Handling
When picking your guinea pig up. The guinea pig should be approached with 2 hands. One is placed under the guinea pig's chest and abdomen, and the other supports its hindquarters. Be aware that guinea pigs get startled easily and can jump quickly if they are frightened.
